TAYLOR COUNTY, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will hold a virtual and in-person meeting to discuss the proposed six-lane widening project on I-20 in Taylor County.
The proposed improvements would take place from west of Abilene city limits to 0.6 miles west of Catclaw Creek in Taylor County. In December 2024, TxDOT will conduct a meeting and online presentation to gather public input on the proposed project to widen I-20 to three lanes in each direction. Along with adding lanes, the project will enhance ramps and frontage roads, include bicycle and pedestrian accommodations, and reconfigure the U.S. 277/U.S. 83 interchange.
